Announcement from the Archbishop

Bishop John Parkes, at present Dean of Brisbane and Assistant Bishop, has accepted the invitation to become the next Executive Director of the Ministry Education Commission and will continue as an Assistant Bishop of the diocese.

The Reverend Canon Dr Peter Catt, at present the Sub-Dean of the Cathedral has been appointed to be the next Dean of Brisbane.

The Reverend Canon Richard Tutin, at present Rector of Bundaberg, has accepted the Archbishop’s invitation to be his next Chaplain. All three appointments will take effect as from 1st November of this year.

Please pray for John Parkes, Peter Catt and Richard Tutin, the MEC, the Cathedral and the Parish of Bundaberg.

A Thanksgiving for the Ministry of Bishop John Parkes as Dean of Brisbane will be held on Sunday 2nd November 2008 during the 9.30am Eucharist.

The Rev'd Canon Peter Catt will be installed as Dean of Brisbane on Sunday 9th November 2009 at 6.00pm Evensong. Afterwards, light refreshments will be served in the grounds of the Cathedral.
Parking is available at Kings Parking directly oppposite St John's from 5pm - 10pm. Enter and exit via Ann Street. Cost $7 payable on entry (gold coin only, no change given)
