2005 PROGRAM OF ACTIVITIES
TO BENEFIT THE COMPLETION
OF ST JOHN'S CATHEDRAL

PROM PRAISE
Saturday 21 May
2.30PM & 7.30PM
Capacity crowds attended this annual celebration with many saying it was the 'Best Yet'.

The program included cello & piano performed by Gwyn Roberts and Jenni Flemming , soprano Maggi Noonan and organist Christopher Wrench. A massed concert choir from Anglican schools and parishes was directed by Emily Cox.

The Singing Clergy made a debut performance, ACGS Jazz Orchestra performed brilliantly as did The Birralee Blokes. As usual, the auience enjoyed participating in shoral numbers.

Lighting effects were provided by Brisbane Concert Lighting and Jenny Woodwared was again the compere.

Funds raised are shared between Anglicare and Catheral Completion.

LOAVES & FISHES LUNCHEON 2005

Around 400 people attended the function and an all time record of $140,000 was raised for completion.

About the speaker:
Winemaker for Jimbour, Peter, affectionately known as Scud, brings a wealth of knowledge to the rapidly developing Queensland wine industry as well as awards for the winery in a selection of reds and whites alike.

Membership of the Institute of Masters of Wine is keenly sought after and includes graduates from at least 16 countries. Peter is one of only 74 Masters of Wine working outside of England.

Peter’s background of Applied Science in Chemistry at USQ and Wine at CSU, have underpinned his skills in wine and grape production, marketing, restaurant profiling, wine and food themeing / tourism and gastronomy.

ELTHAM EAST PRIMARY SCHOOL CHOIR
Thursday 18 August 5.30pm

Every two years this choir visits South East Queensland and includes a recital in St John's Cathedral. The cathedral experience has always been a highlight for this wonderful Choir. Their program includes classical items as well as folk songs and work written by the students with Stephen Leek.
The recital this year was exceptional and the new time,5.30pm, may have attracted some more audience than usual. It is always a pleasure to have these students sing in the cathedral..
Gold Coin donation benefited the completion fund.

14th ANNUAL DEDICATION DINNER

This dinner has become a fixture in Brisbane's social calendar.
