OF ST JOHN'S CATHEDRAL
DEDICATION FESTIVAL EVENSONG & THANKSGIVING FOR COMPLETION DONORS

Evensong in the cathedral was well attended and the Preacher was Bishop Keith Rayner, formerly Primate of the Anglican Church in Australia. The Centenary of the province of Queensland was also celebrated at this Evensong.
The Archbishop specially thanked the many cathedral completion donors present.

DEDICATION DINNER

This year's black-tie dinner was again a success, attended by 200 guests. Entertainment was provided by Judith Henly, soprano, Jack Glatzer, violinist, John Colwell, pianist & raconteur. The dinner was provided by Sofitel Hotel, and sponsors included The National Bank.

ANNUAL LOAVES & FISHES LUNCHEON
Wednesday 21 June 12.30pm
The Chief Justice of Queensland, Justice Paul deJersey, was the guest speaker. As a parishioner of the cathedral he was well able to speak of the links between the church and the judiciary which contribute to the fabric of society in this City.
More than 200 guests enjoyed this special gathering to raise funds for the completion fund. The total money donated on the day was $94,000, and another $100,00 was announced as being donated by a local company.
A video presentation reminded guests of the amazing building progress.
This event is totally covered by sponsors' generous contributions.
GREAT 3,000 PILGRIMAGE
Sunday 12 February
Beginning at 11.30am
All members of the Great 3,000 and intending members, were invited to this celebration and thanksgiving for ongoing support of this exciting completion project, and to see first hand the spectacular progress which has been achieved.
Program:
- 11.30am Service in the cathedral
- Lunch with an address from a stone mason
- Tour of building site
- Cathedral tours available
- Invitation to attend the organ recital
3pm. Organist: Rupert Jeffcoat
Tickets: $15, $10Conc.
- Invitation to attend the Eucharist at 5pm
- Invitation to attend Choral Evensong at 6pm
More than 130 members and guests attended a very happy occasion at which Peter Dare, Master Mason, spoke about building progress over a lunch provided by Dr Patsy Quayle and her willing helpers.
Mrs Liz Bunker, Chairman of the Great 3,000, appealed for new members.
