October 14 – Nautilus’ Sacred Spiral

The seed on good ground are those who hear the word in a spirit of openness, hold it close, and bear fruit through perseverance. (Luke 8:15)

In the depths of the ocean, the chambered nautilus crafts its spiral shell with meticulous precision. Each chamber is a testament to its growth, a record of its journey through life. As it outgrows one chamber, it seals it off and builds a new, larger one, never abandoning its past but incorporating it into its present. This spiral pattern, found throughout nature, is a sacred geometry that speaks of the interconnectedness of all things and the gradual unfolding of life.

Like the nautilus, we are called to grow spiritually, to continuously expand our understanding and embodiment of divine love. When we approach the Word with an open heart, we create a space for it to take root within us. As we nurture this sacred seed through prayer, contemplation, and action, it gradually transforms us from the inside out. Our spiritual growth is not a linear process but a spiral one, as we revisit old lessons in new ways and integrate them more fully into our being. Through perseverance and trust in the process, we bear the fruit of a life lived in alignment with divine wisdom.

Reflection:
1. In what ways am I being called to grow spiritually in this season of my life?
2. How can I cultivate a spirit of openness and perseverance in my spiritual practice?

Prayer:
Divine Presence, guide me in the sacred spiral of growth. Help me to approach your Word with an open heart and to persevere in embodying its wisdom.
